the following exercise is recommended
to help you "polish" your story:
}Think about your favorite Bible stories
- Why are you drawn to these stories?
- How do you see your story connected to these stories?
- How did God work in these accounts, and how have you seen God work in similar ways in your life?
}Spend time with a patriarch or matriarch in your family
- Ask questions about your family, their lives, and those who have gone before you.
- Listen with an open heart and seek to discover more about what has formed you and those you love.

The Cure for the Chronic Life
Each session features a video segment and discussion questions.
Do you live in crisis or in Christ? That's the question authors Deanna Favre and Shane Stanford ask in the companion DVD to the popular book, The Cure for the Chronic Life? Both authors have seen their share of crisis, and they discuss these openly in this six-session DVD. Presented in a straight-forward, conversational manner, the video sessions mirror those worries, cures and wonders found in the book. As a cancer survivor, Deanna Favre, the wife of NFL great Brett Favre, knows about adversity and endurance. As an HIV-positive Methodist minister, Shane Stanford has learned many lessons about faith and peace. Together, the pair shares personal insights, stories, and victories together. We are invited to sit beside them in the discussion. Designed to facilitate group interaction, the DVD sessions are great conversation starters. Viewers are encouraged to follow the forty day plan in the book. The weekly viewings of the sessions serve as a check-up and review of the previous week's self-guided days. The group interaction also serves to prepare and encourage participants for the week ahead. An easy-to-follow guide is also included to help aid small group facilitators.
